Pre & Post Treatment

We want you to have the best experience and outcome. Please review your pre and post treatment instructions.

For 2 weeks before or after treatment, please sustain from the flu shot, any vaccinations, antibiotics (if possible), travel by air, and dental work.

Oral Arnica purchased at a supplement store may be taken 48 hours pre and post-treatment to aid in minimizing bruising, bleeding, and also aid in the healing process.

Dysport - Info

Treatment Information For Dysport/Xeomin/
Botox

Pre-Treatment for Dysport/Xeomin/Botox

48 hours before your treatment, it is best to avoid the following:

  • Ibuprofen

  • Naproxen

  • Aspirin (consult with your doctor if it is safe for you to halt orders for daily aspirin)

  • Alcohol

Also try to avoid the following to minimize the risk of bleeding and bruising:

  • Vitimin E

  • Omega Fatty Acids

  • Garlic

  • Ginko Biloba

  • Garlic

  • Tumeric

  • Ginseng

  • Flax

Treatment is contraindicated if you are pregnant/breastfeeding, or suffer from any neuromuscular disorders.

Post-Treatment for  Dysport/Xeomin/Botox
  • For 4 hours after, avoid sleeping, lying down, working out, or rubbing the treated area

  • For 2 weeks after, sustain from flu shot or antibiotics (if possible)

Dermal Filler - Info

Treatment Information For Dermal Fillers

Pre-Treatment for Dermal Fillers

48 hours before your treatment, it is best to avoid the following:

Post-Treatment for Dermal Fillers
  • For 48 hours after, avoid strenuous exercise, heat, sun, and significant massage or movement to the treated area unless instructed by the practitioner.

  • A cold compress may be applied for 15 minutes every hour as needed to help with any swelling.

  • Avoid laser treatments for 2 weeks.​

If you are prone to cold sores, Valtrex is recommended 2 days before treatment.

Treatment is contraindicated if you are pregnant/breastfeeding.

Glow Peel - Info

Treatment Information For
Chemical Glow Peel

Pre-Treatment for Chemical Glow Peel

It is recommended to follow instructions below to prepare for your glow peel.

  • Use of AlumierMD home care products prior to your peel for a minimum of 10-14 days is recommended to prepare the skin, and allow for better treatment results. 

  • If you are lactating, pregnant, or may be pregnant, consult your physician before receiving treatment.

  • Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for a minimum 14 days prior to treatment.

  • Avoid the use of retinoid products (eg. Retinol, Retin A, Tazorac) and high levels of AHA and BHA products prior to. Consult your physician before temporarily discontinuing the use of any prescription medications.

 

What To Expect

  • AlumierMD skin treatments result in minimal to no downtime but create visible results.

  • Treatments may cause slight redness, tightness, peeling, flaking or temporary dryness.

  • Most patients do find it necessary to apply makeup, as the skin will be smooth, dewy and radiant following your treatment.

Post-Treatment for Chemical Glow Peel
  • AVOID DIRECT SUN EXPOSURE AND EXCESSIVE HEAT FOR 5 DAYS

  • Only use the products in post procedure kit for 5-7 days post treatment.

  • Discontinue use of any product that irritates the skin.

  • Keep your skin hydrated. Hydration is key to proper healing.

  • Do not cleanse your skin the evening of your peel.

  • Do not pick or pull any flakes- it prolongs recovery

  • Do not tan or use a tanning booth for at least 14 days post peel.

  • Do not have electrolysis, waxing, threading or any form of
    hair removal 7 day post peel.

  • Do not use retinoid acid, AHA or BHA for 14 days post peel.

  • Do not apply ice or ice water on the treated area.

  • Do not use hot tubs, steam rooms, saunas, and/or excessively hot showers for 2 days post peel.

  • Do not go swimming for 2 days post peel.

  • Do not participate in aerobic exercise for 2 days post peel.
